QardioBase is safe to use by individuals that are 10 years old or older, however pregnant women are recommended to use QardioBase in “Pregnancy Mode” or “W eight-only Mode”, and people fitted with an implantable medical device must only use QardioBase in “Weight-only Mode”, which disables the body composition analysis. -

Body Composition Measurement and Its Fluctuations Over The Course Of The Day QardioBase measures body mass using bio-impedance analysis. A small and safe signal is sent by the indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes on the top of the scale and is analyzed to determine the impedance of the body.
