Garbled terminal display

If terminal display is garbled, verify that the following settings are configured for the terminal, for
example, HyperTerminal:
Baud rate—9600
Data bits—8
Parity—None
Stop bits—1
Flow control—None
When you modify the settings for the console port of the switch, configure the same settings for the
console terminal.

Troubleshooting the switch during the operation

Use display commands to examine the configuration for configuration errors or examine statistics for
exceptions.
If any configuration error is found, re-configure the switch or restore the factory-default settings. For more
information, see HP FlexFabric 12900 Switch Series Fundamentals Configuration Guide.

Power supply system failure

If the switch is operating correctly, the PWR LED on the front panel is green; on the MPU, the power
supply OK LED is on and the FAIL LED is off; on the power supplies, the input and output LEDs are steady
green. For more information, see
To view the power supply LEDs, you must remove the plastic panel from the chassis. For more information,
see
"Replacement
You can install up to eight power supplies to the 12910 AC switch. When all the power supplies are
operating correctly, the OK LED is on and the FAIL LED is off on the MPU. If a power supply is faulty, the
OK LED is off and the FAIL LED is on.
After a power supply is disconnected from its power source, the input and output LEDs on the power
supply stay ON for several seconds.
If the PWR LED on the front panel is red, or the OK LED on the MPU is off and the FAIL LED is on, a power
supply problem has occurred. Then examine the power supply status LEDs to see whether the power
supplies are faulty. If the input/output LED of a power supply is off or the fault LED is on, the power supply
is faulty. Examine the power supply for an exception, as follows:
1.
Examine the power supply model.
The power supply model HP 12500 2000W AC Power Supply (JF429A) is compatible with the
12910 AC switch.
2.
Examine the power cable connections. If a power cable is loose, re-plug the power cable.
