Grounding to prevent damage by static electricity Electrostatic discharge (ESD), which occurs when static electricity stored in the body, fabric, etc. is discharged, can destroy the laser diode in the traverse unit (optical pickup). Take care to prevent this when performing repairs.
  • Page 5 MX-J170V Disassembly method Top cover <Main body> Removing the top cover and the side covers (See Fig.1 to 3) Remove the five screws A on the back of the body and the both sides of the body. Remove the top cover upward from behind.

VCD power board Disconnect the card wire from connector SCW1 of the CD servo board on the back of the CD changer unit.
