Cleaning the Inside of the Printer

During printing, paper scraps, toner and dust particles may fall into and accumulate inside
the printer. As time goes by, the debris may result in poor print quality, such as toner spots,
stains and paper jams. Cleaning the inside of the printer can eliminate or reduce such
issues.
1. Power off the printer and disconnect the power cord. Wait for the printer to cool.
2. Open the printer cover and remove the toner cartridge.
3. Wipe off the dust and toner on the cartridge and inside the printer with a dry lint-
free cloth.
4. Re-install the cartridge and close the cover tightly.
5. Connect the power cord and turn on the printer.
Important
• Do not expose the cartridge to the sun for more than a few minutes to avoid
damaging it. Cover it with a piece of paper where necessary. Do not touch the
transfer roll inside the printer.
Cleaning Scanner Glass
1 Lift the scanner cover.
2 Clean the scanner glass with a soft wet cloth, and then dry with a clean cloth.
