2.3 Connection
2.3.1 Outside Line Connection
There are two methods to perform Outside Line Connection, using a 4-pin connector and a
modular connector. Which method should be used depends on the model number of the system
as shown below.

Method 1: Using 4-pin Connector (for KX-TD816, KX-TD1232DBX/ML, KX-TDN1232)

Prepare the required plugs. Two 4-pin plugs for KX-TD816 and four 4-pin plugs for KX-
TD1232 are included to connect outside lines. A plug is able to connect two outside lines.
Use twisted pair cable.
Note
Do not peel off the wire coating. Insert the wires all the way.
To the main unit
2.
Insert the plug into an outside line jack in the main unit.
3.
Connect the line cord to the terminal board or the Central Office jack.
