Ice maker not making ice

The Kenmore 253.7034 ice maker may not be making ice due to the following reasons:

1. Ice dispenser motor overheated – If used too long, the motor may overheat. Wait for about three minutes before trying again.
2. Ice has melted and refrozen around the auger – This can happen due to infrequent use, temperature fluctuations, or power outages. Remove the ice container, thaw, empty it, clean it, dry it, and put it back in place.
3. Jammed ice cubes – Ice cubes may be stuck between the ice maker and the back of the ice container. Remove the jammed cubes.
4. Water filter issues – The water filter may not be seated properly or could be clogged. Reinstall or replace the filter, ensuring it snaps into place.
5. Household water line valve closed – Ensure the household water line valve is open.

These steps should help resolve the issue.
