Checking flow rate before starting the heat pump.

The flow rate through the heat pump is very high and must never fall. An alarm will
show E911 if the flow falls below 17l/min on a 9 and 16Kw UNIT and 9l/min on a 5Kw
unit.
If you are using a header, buffer or heat exchanger this is easy to achieve. If
not .....
Testing the flow in heating mode
Press right and left button together for 6 seconds. The controller will display TEST
or 7E57, press the power on/off button to start the pump. When the pump is running
you can see a picture of a house with a circle round it
The unit will be running only in heating mode. Check the flow rate, IDEALLY we need
12l/min on the 5kW unit, 20l/min of flow on the 9kW unit and 30l/min on the 16kW
unit. If there is not enough flow the unit will never operate.
If you look into the flow meter you can see the flow in litres per minute. The flow rate
is the low figure, in this picture you can see a flow rate indicated, this shows 25l/min
NOT 35l/min
If the flow rate is too low, you need to fix this before moving on. Turn up your
pumps, remove any air and if it's still not enough you need bigger pumps. The
unit won't work if the flow rate is too low.

Flow Test: if you don't have a header, heat exchanger or
buffer. Setting up the bypass valve
In heating mode (see above) close every TRV on every radiator and shut off all
underfloor heating loops. This is the worst case scenario for flow, the bypass valve
needs to be adjusted to make sure the flow rate is still above 16/l to avoid faults.
Adjust the bypass valve to achieve this. Now open the TRVs again and exit service
mode press ESC.
