To change the cutter head shaft on a Stihl FS 36:
1. Remove the cutting head by blocking the shaft and turning the cutting head counterclockwise.
2. Withdraw the drive shaft from the drive tube.
3. Fill the gearhead with approximately 20 g (3/4 oz) of STIHL gear lubricant.
4. Before installing the new shaft, coat the flexible drive shaft with STIHL multi-purpose grease uniformly and sparingly.
5. Push the new drive shaft into the drive tube. Rotate slowly and apply light pressure if needed until it fits properly.
