To change the cutter head shaft on a Stihl FS 36:
1. Remove the cutting head by blocking the shaft and turning the cutting head counterclockwise. 2. Withdraw the drive shaft from the drive tube. 3. Fill the gearhead with approximately 20 g (3/4 oz) of STIHL gear lubricant. 4. Before installing the new shaft, coat the flexible drive shaft with STIHL multi-purpose grease uniformly and sparingly. 5. Push the new drive shaft into the drive tube. Rotate slowly and apply light pressure if needed until it fits properly. 6. Refit the deflector shield and secure all components.
