Cause
Problem
Poor Capacity
Poor vacuuming technique
Poor fitting hose connections.
Plugged Hoses
Airlock not sealing properly
Rubber seals on auger joins
not sealing
Rubber seals between the
upper body and the inlet tube
are not sealing.
Rubber seals between the
upper and lower body are not
sealing.
Solution
Air must be allowed into the hose with the grain. If
not, there will not be enough air moving to convey the
grain. Amount of air to allow in will vary with type of
grain being conveyed, length of hoses, outside
temperature etc.
The 7" diameter steel hoses should be used as long as
possible. They provide better wear characteristic and
greatly increase capacity over the rubber cleanup hose.
The longer the hoses and the more bends and loops in
the hoses, the lower the capacity will be. Try to minimize
hose lengths and avoid loops and bends in the hoses.
Check all joints in the suction hoses for leaks. If clamps
are damaged, they should be fixed or replaced. If
clamps are leaking, they should be tightened.
Locate the obstruction and remove.
Fold the machine into transport and visually inspect
the airlock door. Clear of any obstruction if required.
Repair or replace the airlock if damaged. See Section
5.5.
Repair or replace if necessary. Adjust the seal position
on the 5000 EX model.
Clean, repair or replace if necessary.
