A SAS drive for Dell iDRAC 8 is a type of physical disk that uses the Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface, commonly used in enterprise servers for high-speed data transfer and reliability.

To find out the version or details of a SAS drive in iDRAC 8, you need to:

1. Perform a "Collect System Inventory On Reboot (CSIOR)" operation.
2. Reboot the system after any firmware updates.
3. Use the iDRAC interface to view system inventory, which includes drive information.

This process allows you to inventory and monitor connected storage devices, including SAS drives.
