Rollingthe Beltoffthe PTO Pulley
a. Using the decklift handle,raisethe deck to the positionthat
provides the mosthorizontal r unof the belt betweenthe deckidler
pulleys andthe PTO pulleyon the bottomofthe engine.
b. Sittingbehindthe tractorfacingforward,reachbeneath the tractor
to grasp the belt at thefront of the PTO pulley.
Use cautionto avoid pinchingyour fingers when rollingthe belt off the
PTO pulley.
c. Pullthe left sideof the belt rearwardanddownwardwhilemanually
turningthe PTO pulleyto the right until the belt ridesout ontothe
edge of the lowersheave of the pulley.
NOTE: If pullingthe rightsideof the belt, turn the pulleyleft.
d. Whilestill holdingthe beltdownward, c ontinueturningthe PTO
pulleyuntil the belt isrolledoffthe pulley.Refer t o Figure 35.

Locate the LHandRH deckrelease pinson eachsideofthe deck.Pullthe
release pinsoutwardandrelease the deckfrom the LHandRHdecklift arms.

There isacertainamountof spring tension dueto theweightof the deck. W hen
removing the lift linkagefromthe deck the tension ofthe springs will gofromthe
deck to thedecklifthandle andsnapback.
7. Slidethe front decklift rodoff the hanger b rackets onthe front of the deck
8. Place the decklift handleinto the highestmowingpositionandslidethe
deckout from the rightsideofthe tractor.
DeckInstallation
Installthe deckonthe tractorasfollows:
1. Place t hedeck lift handle i nthehighest mowing position See Figure 3 3.
2. Slidethe deckunderthe tractoron the rightsideof the tractorliningupthe
deckhangerbrackets a ndthe decklift arms.
3. Once the deckis underthe tractor,movethe decklift handle to the deck
removal/installation position_.
NO_:Tolinethebrackets upproperly, it maybenecessary toplace asmall block of
woodunder e ach side ofthedeck.
4. Hookthe f rontdeck lift mdontothehanger brackets onthefrontofthedeck.
5. Pullthe deckrelease pinsoutwardandmaneuver t he deckasnecessary t o
alignthe holesin the decklift armswith the pins.Refer t o Figure 36.
6. Whenaligned,pusheachpinfullyinwardthroughthe lift armsto secure the
armsin the rearhanger b racketslots.
7. Makecertainthe 'V' beltis inthe spindlepulleys on the deck;thenroutethe
belt rearwardbeneath the tractorframe,above the transmission t ube(s), t o
the PTO pulleyon the bottomofthe engine.
8. Using the decklift handle,raisethe deck to the positionthatprovides the
mosthorizontal r unof the belt betweenthedeckidlerpulleys andthe PTO
pulleyonthe bottomof the engine.
