To replace a hydraulics assembly component
1. To replace any of the following hydraulics assembly components, refer to
the parts illustrations in Section 9, Parts, to remove and reinstall the
component:
S
Manifold
S
Grid/hopper
S
Reservoir
2. To replace the pressure discharge valve, follow these steps:
a.. Remove the three retaining screws that secure the valve.
b.. Pull the pressure discharge valve out of the manifold by hand.
NOTE: The manifold must be warm to facilitate removal of the valve.
c.. Install the replacement valve and secure it with the supplied screws.
Tighten the screws to 3.4-4.2 NSm (30-37 in.‐lb).
To install the hydraulics assembly
1. Position the hydraulics assembly inside the melter chassis, secure it with
the two screws removed previously, and push up on the pump until the
spring‐loaded bolt automatically catches the assembly.
2. See Figure 8‐31. Reconnect or reinstall the following components:
S
Bulkhead harness connector (1)
S
Hydraulic tilt switch harness on pump top bracket (2)
S
Pneumatic control assembly power cable (3)
S
Cyclone upper body (4) (refer to To remove the cyclone assembly
earlier in this section if needed)
S
Hydraulics assembly ground strap (5)
S
Level sensor cable and ground wire (6)
S
Hoses (7)
S
Air lines to the T‐fitting on the pressure discharge valve (8)
3. Close the insulation, reinstall the hydraulics cover, and restore the
system to normal operation.
