    Chapter 1 Product Overview 1.1 Preface Huawei S8500 Series Routing Switches are orientated to operate at the convergence layer of a large MAN, or at the core layer of a small MAN, or at the backbone of a large enterprise network or a campus network. They serve as the Layer 3 devices in the switching center and convergence center.
