Your Viking HB 445 tiller may not start when pulling the accelerator lever due to several possible reasons:

1. Cold Start Procedure Not Followed – Models HB445 and HB445R are equipped with a primer for cold starting. Ensure you have primed the engine before attempting to start it.

2. Spark Plug Issues – Check if the spark plug is worn, damaged, or dirty. Remove and clean or replace it if necessary.

3. Air Filter Blockage – A dirty or clogged air filter can prevent the engine from starting. Clean or replace the air filter.

4. Fuel Problems – Ensure there is enough fuel in the tank and that it is fresh. Stale fuel can cause starting issues.

5. Drive or Safety Mechanism Engaged – Ensure the tiller is in the correct starting position and that no safety mechanisms are preventing the engine from running.

6. Technical Fault – If there is excessive vibration or damaged parts, the machine may not function properly. Inspect for any bent or broken components.

If the issue persists, consult a specialist dealer for further troubleshooting.
