Right side and left side guides for drilling motor mount holes 8. - Page 4 Step 1: I've removed the rotor head and main gear assembly to allow more room to work on the model. I've also loosened all screws on one side of the frames to allow disassembly of the clutch assembly electric motor which will be helpful in the build later on. You may find it easier to remove the tail boom to allow the model to sit balanced on your work bench.
- Page 5 Step 2: Locate the right side and left side motor mount and battery mount drilling guides. These guides are designed to make it easy for the user to successfully drill the holes in the frames for the motor mount and battery mount without any hassle. The larger guides are for your motor mount and smaller guides are for the battery mount.
- Page 6 You can use the drilling guides supplied to index the right drill bit. We'll be using the stock shouldered screws supplied with the Align Trex 700N kit for mounting the motor mount, upper bearing block, battery mount and side frames to bottom plate connecting brackets.
- Page 7 Step 4: Locate your electric and if you have not done so yet, solder your male end bullet connectors to your motor and female end to your speed controller. Step 5: Locate the supplied motor mount and 4mm screws (4 screws). Again, use very little red or blue loctite prior to assembling motor mount onto the motor as seen in the picture.
- Page 8 Install the motor assembly and upper bearing block in the frame halves at this point as seen in the picture. Loosely install the shouldered screws supplied with the Align Trex 700N kit onto the upper bearing block assembly and motor mount making sure the shoulder of the screw is registered in the...
- Page 9 Locate the 2 small side frame to bottom plate connecting brackets. Install using the shouldered screws supplied with the Align Trex 700N kit as seen in the picture. There are 2 screws per bracket securing the side frame to the bottom plate.
- Page 10 Step 8: At this point, you can install the speed controller. Clean the mounting surfaces where you will be using sticky back Velcro. Cover the back of the speed controller with the fuzzy side Velcro and the hook side to the top of the bottom tray. Install the speed controller where the fuel tank was placed. You may need to use the servo extension to fully reach the receiver and plug into your throttle channel.
- Page 11 Step 9: You can now install the main gear and rotor head assembly so we can mesh the pinion to main gear and tighten motor and upper blocks in the frames. Not all main gears are perfectly round so it would be best to go ahead and pre-mesh the gears and rotate main gear till you find the tightest point of main gear.
