for the user as well as for
identification printing on the
control panels!
Provide space for the con-
trol panel at an easily vis-
ible location. Length of the
connection cable 3 m. A
5 m extension cable (8 m in
combination) is available if
required (part no. 34300-01
for the control panel, part no
34010-02100 for the power
selector switch).
If it is not possible to install
the control panels flush
with the surface, Truma can
provide a surface-mounting
frame (45) on request, as a
special accessory (part no.
40000-52600).
1. Fig. L: The control panel
(46) and the power selec-
tor switch (47) should be
installed next to each other if
possible (distance from
centre of hole 66 mm).
2. In each case, drill a hole
with diameter 55 mm (dis-
tance between centres of
holes 66 mm).
3. Attach the 10-pin connect-
ing cable (48) to the control
panel (46) and the 9-pin
connecting cable (50) to the
power selector switch (47).
Then fit the rear caps (49) as
strain relief.
4. Lead out the connecting
cables (48 + 50) to the rear
and route to the electronic
control unit on the device.
5. Secure both control panels
with 4 screws (51) each and
fit the cover frame (52) on
them.
To round off the appear-
ance of the cover frame,
Truma can provide side piec-
es (53) as special accessories
in 8 different colours (please
ask your dealer).
Connecting the
room temperature
sensor and control
panels to the system
Fig. N: Remove top cover
of electronic control unit
(54). Fit connecting cables
to room temperature sensor
(55 – polarity is not impor-
tant), control panel (48), pow-
er selector switch (47) and if
necessary to timer (56). Slide
cover back on again.
The contact (60) is provided
for connecting a window
switch (see section entitled
„Choice of location").
Electrical
connection 12 V
Electric cables, switching
units and control units for
heaters must be arranged in
the vehicle in such a way that
their satisfactory operation
cannot be adversely affected
under normal operating con-
ditions. All cables leading to
the outside must be splash
proof at the leadthrough
opening.
Prior to working on electric
components the appliance
must be disconnected from
the power supply. Swit ching
off at the control panel is not
sufficient!
When carrying out electric
welding work on the body
the appliance connection
must be disconnected from
the vehicle electrical system.
If the connections are
transposed there is a
risk of cable burning. This
also rules out any guarantee
or liability claims.
Fig. N: To guarantee op-
timum power supply, the
heating system must be
connected to the fused on-
board network (central elec-
tronics unit 10 A) with a 2 x
2
2.5 mm
cable (for lengths
2
over 6 m with 2 x 4 mm
ca-
ble). If relevant, voltage drops
in the supply cable must be
taken into account. Connect
the negative lead to the cen-
tral earth. If connected di-
rectly to the battery, the posi-
tive and negative leads must
be fused. Use fully-insulated
6.3 mm push-on receptacles
(57) for the connection.
Do not connect any other
consumers to the supply line!
When power supplies
are being used, it must
be noted that the output
voltage is between 11 V and
15 V and the alternating
current ripple is < 1.2 Vpp.
The Truma battery
charger NT12/ 3-18 (part
no. 39901-01) is recommend-
ed for connecting multiple 12
V devices. This charger (with
a charging current of 18 A) is
suitable for charging lead-ac-
id or lead-gel batteries. Other
chargers must only be used
with a 12 V battery as a buff-
er. Mains power supplies and
other power supply equip-
ment must have a controlled
12 V output (AC component
less than 1 Vpp).
For saving the battery
we recommend using
solar collectors. Please ask
for information from your
dealer.
Electrical connection
of the safety/drain
valve
Fig. G: Connect the valve
with the red continuous cur-
rent cable (+) to the fused
vehicle power supply (1 A).
Connect the 2-pin cable with
double connector (58) to the
control unit. The brown cable
(59) is provided for the re-
mote control of the safety/
drain valve (refer to operating
instructions – accessories).
Electrical
connection 230 V
The electrical connec-
tion is only to be
carried out by an expert (in
Germany, acc. to VDE 0100,
Section 721). The information
given here is not intended as
instructions for you to carry
out. It is for assisting the
expert assigned to carry out
the job, acting as auxiliary
information when connecting
the appliance!
Always make sure to con nect
carefully, observing the cor-
rect colours!
For maintenance and repair
work a disconnecting device
must be provided on the ve-
hicle for all- pole disconnec-
tion from the power supply,
with at least 3.5 mm contact
clearance.
Connect to the mains supply
via the 150 cm long silicone
cable by means of a fuse-
protected line of at least 10 A
(better 16 A).
All cables must be secured
with cable clips.
Function check
After installation, the gas
feed line must be tested
for tightness by the pres-
sure-drop method. A test
certificate (in Germany, for
example, in accordance with
DVGW Worksheet G 607 for
motor vehicles or G 608 for
boats) is to be issued.
Then check all functions of
the appliance, as specified in
the operating instructions, in
particular the water content
draining function. There
shall be no guarantee
claims for damage caused
by frost!
The operating instructions
and completed guarantee
card are to be given to the
owner of the vehicle.
Warning
information
The installer or vehicle owner
must apply the yel low sticker
with the war ning information,
which is enclosed with the
applian ce, to a place in the
vehicle where it is clearly
visible to all users (e.g. on
the wardrobe door)! Ask
Truma to send you stickers,
if neces sary.
