The motor in the Weiser Lock Powerbolt 1000 may activate but not run long enough to move the deadbolt due to several possible reasons:

1. Low Battery Power – Weak or nearly dead batteries may not provide enough current for the motor to complete the locking or unlocking motion. Replace all batteries with new, high-quality alkaline batteries.

2. Misalignment of Deadbolt – If the deadbolt is not properly aligned with the strike plate, the motor may struggle to move it. Check for smooth manual operation and adjust the strike plate or door position if necessary.

3. Jammed or Dirty Mechanism – Dirt, debris, or internal mechanical wear can cause resistance. Clean the lock mechanism and ensure all moving parts are free of obstructions.

4. Incorrect Installation – If the lock is not installed correctly, the motor may not engage properly. Verify that the deadbolt extends and retracts smoothly without resistance when operated manually.

5. Wiring or Connection Issues – Loose or damaged wires inside the unit can disrupt motor function. Inspect internal wiring and ensure all connections are secure.

6. Motor or Gear Failure – If the motor is worn out or internal gears are damaged, it may not provide enough force. In this case, replacing the motor assembly or the entire lock may be necessary.

If the issue persists after checking these factors, a factory reset or replacing the lock may be required.
