What processors power the NEC Versa LX and Versa SX?
Users have a choice of these mobile Pentium processors:
233MHz mobile Pentium II
All processors feature 32KB internal cache, 512KB Level 2 cache, 32-bit PCI 2.1
(peripheral component interconnect) bus architecture and 64-bit CPU
architecture.
Does the mobile Pentium II processor offer higher performance?
Intel estimates that it offers 30 to 35 percent faster performance than the Pentium
processor with MMX technology.
Why should users be interested in the Wired for Management 1.1A (WfM) initiative
supported by the NEC Versa LX and Versa SX?
WfM makes the new Versa notebooks, as well as NEC PowerMate desktops,
Coupled with the LANDesk Client Manager 3.2 software that comes with the
WfM enables the systems to be centrally managed over the corporate network.
That means reduced operating costs because asset management and inventory
control; service, support and maintenance functions; and system setup and software
distribution can all be handled remotely.
What size and resolution displays are available on the NEC Versa LX and Versa SX,
and how many colors are supported?
Three sizes and two resolutions are available:
13.3" XGA (1024 x 768)
12.1" SVGA (800 x 600)
What's special about these displays?
They are the new thin and light active-matrix color displays from NEC Corp-
oration. At just one-quarter inch thick, the screens are 33 percent thinner than
