    DALI loudspeakers are set up and connected optimally. For this reason, we recommend that you read this manual and follow its instructions (this manual only refers to the new IKON MK2 series). the manual contains instructions for setup and connection, as well as tips and advice on how to get the most out of your new loudspeakers.
  • Page 7 (see figure 4). 3.3 DALI IKON 1 there are several placement options for DALI IKON 1: on a stand, on a shelf, on a table-top or wall-mounting. For the best possible sound, we recommend placing the speaker with the tweeter module at roughly the same height as your ears when you are seated in your favourite listening position.

    4.1 SINGLE-WIRING vs. BI-WIRING/BI-AMPING All DALI IKON speakers can be connected by means of a single speaker cable (see figure 9A + 9B). However, DALI IKON 2, 5, 6 and 7 are fitted with two pairs of terminals, allowing you the option of running two sets of cables to each speaker.

    NOTE: When bi-wiring or bi-amping, ALWAYS remove the metal jumpers between the terminals before connecting cables (see figure 9c + 9D). For bi-wiring, connect two sets of loudspeaker cables, one to the top terminals and one to the bottom terminals of the speakers. At the amplifier end, connect both sets of loudspeaker cables to the same pair of terminals on the amplifier (see figure 9c).

    DALI IKON SuB features a front-firing woofer and located at the rear side of the subwoofer is a heat sink, which can become hot when the subwoofer is powered. Make sure the heat sink is not blocked or covered.
  • Page 11 (pre-) amplifier/ receiver to the LINE INPut L connector on the DALI IKON SuB placed to the left in your room. In a similar way you should connect the right channel output connector of your stereo or surround (pre-) amplifier/receiver to the LINE INPut R connector on the DALI IKON SuB placed to the right in your room.
  • Page 12 (see chapter “9.1 Positioning”). When you have decided which method of connection you want to use and you have positioned the subwoofer, you can begin the process of tuning the system. You are now ready to adjust your DALI IKON SuB. 9.6.1 PHASE SETTING the PHASE switch of the subwoofer has two settings: 0 degrees or 180 degrees.
  • Page 13 (Frequency range 50-130 Hz). Smaller speakers typically require a higher crossover point, whereas larger speakers will accept a lower crossover point. For example when using your DALI IKON SuB together with DALI IKON 2, we recommend a crossover point of approximately 90 Hz (12 o’clock position).

    However, none of them tell you anything useful about how a speaker really sounds. Only your ears can decide whether one speaker sounds better than another. Like all our speakers, DALI IKON MK2 series is designed to reproduce music as honestly as possible.

    Viel Vergnügen! 2 . 0 A U S P A C K E N Achten Sie darauf, die teile beim Auspacken nicht zu beschädigen. Abhängig von dem DALI IKON Modell, für welches Sie sich entschieden haben, befinden sich unterschiedliche Zubehörteile in der Verpackung.
  • Page 19 Stand zu gewährleisten (siehe Abb. 4). 3.4 DALI IKON VOKAL 2 DALI IKON VOKAL 2 ist der spezielle center-Kanal und wurde speziell so konstruiert, dass er nahe der großen Oberfläche eines Fernsehbildschirms aufgestellt werden kann. Sie können ihn über oder unter dem Bildschirm aufstellen, auf einem Ständer oder einem Regal.

    Alle DALI IKON Lautsprecher können mit einem einfachen Lautsprecherkabel angeschlossen werden (siehe Abb. 9A und 9B). DALI IKON 2, 5, 6 und 7 verfügen jedoch über zwei Anschlusspaare, so dass Sie die Möglichkeit haben, jeden Lautsprecher mit zwei Kabelsätzen anzuschließen. Das obere Anschlusspaar ist intern mit dem höherfrequenten Abschnitt der Frequenzweiche verbunden.

    BITTE BEAchTEN: Bei Benutzung von Doppelverkabelung oder doppelten Verstärkern sind vor Anschließen der Kabel IMMER die Drahtbrücken zwischen den Anschlüssen zu entfernen (siehe Abb. 9c und 9D). Bei Doppelverkabelung sind zwei Sätze von Lautsprecherkabeln anzuschließen, einer am oberen und einer am unteren Anschlusspaar. Auf der Verstärkerseite sind dann beide Kabelsätze am gleichen Anschlusspaar des Verstärkers anzuschließen (siehe Abb.

    Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie die Lautstärke so niedrig halten, dass der Klang klar und unverzerrt bleibt. Dadurch minimieren Sie die Belastung für Lautsprecher und Verstärker. Allen DALI Lautsprechern liegt das Konzept der linearen Impedanz zu Grunde, um für eine optimale auf dem Verstärker liegende Last zu sorgen. Das Ergebnis ist ein erheblich offeneres und detailreicheres Klangbild.
  • Page 23 Frequenzweiche einstellt. 9.5 EINSATZ VON ZWEI DALI IKON SUBWOOFERN In den meisten Fällen erhalten Sie durch den Einsatz von nur einem DALI IKON SuB ausgezeichnete Ergebnisse. Für eine kompromisslose Stereo-Lösung oder für eine sehr kräftige Wiedergabe in größeren Räumen ist jedoch auch die Verwendung von zwei Subwoofern möglich.
  • Page 24 Verstärkers/-Receivers mit einem cinch-Splitter (nicht mitgeliefert) und schließen die beiden Ausgänge an. Folgen Sie ansonsten der im vorigen Abschnitt beschriebenen Vorgangsweise – aber benutzen Sie verschiedene Kanäle. Bitte wenden Sie sich an Ihren autorisierten DALI- Händler, falls Sie weitere Fragen haben sollten.
  • Page 25 Lautstärke nachzuregulieren. 9.8.2 LFE-EINGANG VERWENDEN Wenn Sie z. B. den DALI IKON SuB zusammen mit dem DALI IKON 1 oder ähnlichen Lautsprechern einsetzen, empfehlen wir eine trennfrequenz von etwa 100 Hz. Der Wert muss im Menüsystem Ihres (Vor-)Verstärkers/Receivers eingegeben werden. Sie müssen eventuell im Menü des AV- Receivers bei der Auswahl der Art der Frontlautsprecher „Small“...
  • Page 26 Subwoofer von selbst in den Bereitschaftzustand und die Leuchtdiode ON/StANDBY auf der Rückseite leuchtet rot. 9.11 ÜBERLASTUNG Bei einer Überlastung des DALI IKON SuB schaltet ein eingebauter Sicherheitsschaltkreis den Subwoofer herunter. Der Subwoofer schaltet sich wieder ein, wenn die temperatur des eingebauten Verstärkers wieder in einen sicheren Bereich abgesunken ist.

    Keine von ihnen wird Ihnen jedoch etwas Nützliches darüber verraten, wie ein Lautsprecher wirklich klingt. Allein Ihre Ohren können entscheiden, ob ein Lautsprecher besser klingt als ein anderer. Wie alle unserer Lautsprecher wurde auch der DALI IKON so konstruiert, dass er die Musik so originalgetreu wie nur irgend möglich wiedergibt.

    1 . 0 I N T R O D U K T I O N tillykke med valget af DALI IKON MK 2 højttalere. For os er det vigtigt, at dine nye DALI højt- talere opstilles og tilsluttes bedst muligt. Vi anbefaler derfor, at du læser manualen og følger anvisningerne (Denne manual omhandler kun IKON MK 2 serien).

    Alle DALI IKON-højttalere kan tilsluttes ved hjælp af et enkelt højttalerkabel (se figur 9A og 9B). DALI IKON 2, 5, 6 og 7 er dog udstyret med to par terminaler, så du har mulighed for at føre to sæt kabler til hver højttaler. Det øverste terminalpar er internt forbundet til delefilterets højfrekvensdel.

    Alle DALI højttalere er konstrueret på en måde, så de altid giver en optimal belastning af forstærkeren - det kaldes også for lineær impedans - og resultatet er et tydeligt mere åbent og detaljeret lydbillede.
  • Page 34 9.2 TILSLUTNING af DALI IKON SUB DALI IKON SuB er udstyret med en indbygget forstærker med en aktiv delefunktion. Indgangene til subwooferens forstærker skal være tilsluttet din stereo- eller surround sound-(for-)forstærker ved hjælp af et RcA-kabel (sælges separat). Ved ændring af tilslutninger skal du altid afbryde strømforsyningen fra lysnettet til subwooferen for at undgå...
  • Page 35 9.5 BRUG AF TO DALI IKON SUBWOOFERE I de fleste tilfælde vil du opnå fremragende resultater med én DALI IKON SuB. Det er muligt at bruge to subwoofere i en kompromisløs stereoløsning eller til reproduktion af meget kraftige lydtryk i en stereo- eller surroundopsætning i større rum.

Subwooferen vil tænde igen, når temperaturen i den indbyggede forstærker er inden for et sikkert funktionsområde.

    Det er kun dine ører, der afgør, om én højttaler lyder bedre end en anden. Ligesom alle vores andre højttalere er DALI IKONdesignet til at gengive musik så ærligt som muligt.
