    Assembly Page_1 Insert the washers as shown on the telescop c shaft. Install the telescop c shaft to ts locat on on the search co l. Secure by t ghten ng the screw and nut. Loosen the tw st lock before mount ng the telescop c shaft to the upper rod. Press down the p n and engage the p eces together and t ghten the tw st lock after the p n s cl cked nto the hole.

    Battery Details Page_3 The dev ce s suppl ed w th 4 p eces of AA Alkal ne batter es. To remove the battery compartment cover, press on the latch and pull out. Insert the batter es observ ng correct polar ty of + (plus) and - (m nus). The dev ce can be used for approx mately 25-30 hours when the batter es are fully charged.

    Quick Guide Page_6 Assemble the dev ce as per the nstruct ons on page 1. Insert the batter es by pay ng attent on to +/- polar ty. Rotate the on/off sw tch located beh nd the dev ce clockw se to turn on the dev ce.

    3 search modes adapted to d fferent ground cond t ons and target types are offered by the GOLD RACER. Names of the search modes are def ned as All Metal, DISC.1, and DISC.2 on the screen. You can eas ly sw tch between the modes by us ng the d rect on keys dur ng your search.

If the sens t v ty level s not set properly, you can hear a crackl ng sound n these modes.

    Factory Default /Save (FD/Save) W th the FD/Save feature of the GOLD RACER, you can save your sett ngs or restore factory defaults. Th s sett ng appears on both s des of the screen and has the same funct on. Save funct on saves all sett ngs except for the ground balance and the Aud o Boost n the All Metal mode.

    Ground Balance Page_12 Ground balance can be performed by three ways n GOLD RACER: Automat c, Manual and Track ng. If the tr gger s pushed forward wh le perform ng automat c or manual ground balance, the dev ce w ll sw tch to the All Metal mode automat cally on the background w thout any nd cat on to the user, regardless of the selected search mode.

    Sensitivity, Threshold, iSAT and iMask Page_16 Adjustment of these four sett ngs s cr t cal for a no se-free and h gh performance operat on of the dev ce. It s poss ble to obta n an average performance w th the default sett ngs. However, these sett ngs need to be adjusted n order to perform deeper searches when ground and surround ng cond t ons allow or to be able to perform a search under challeng ng cond t ons.

    Swinging Speed and Target Identification GOLD RACER s a detector w th very h gh detect ng speed. When you detect a target w th GOLD RACER, you should make w der passes nstead of narrow ng the sweeps and mak ng qu ck sweeps over the target l ke n other metal detectors, n order to rece ve an accurate ID from the target.

There are var ous reasons for the false s gnals rece ved by the dev ce. The most known ones are ground m neral zat on or rocks w th h gh m neral content, surround ng electromagnet c s gnals, operat on of another nearby detector, rusted or corroded ron or fo l n the so l, sens t v ty or threshold values set too h gh.

The comb ned effect created by the rock and metal together s lower than the effect that the metal creates by tself and the d splayed ID w ll be d fferent than the metal's expected ID.
