Lock Screen

Choose a method for unlocking
your screen. Different Screen
Locks have different levels of
security and options.
Set a Screen Lock
1. From a Home screen, tap
Settings > DEVICE.
2. Tap Lock screen.
3. Tap Screen lock to select a screen lock and
level of security:
•
Swipe: Swipe the screen to unlock it. This
option provides no security.
•
Signature: Write your signature to unlock the
screen.
•
Pattern: A screen unlock pattern is a tap
gesture you create and use to unlock your
device. This option provides medium security.
•
PIN: Select a PIN to use for unlocking the
screen. This option provides medium to high
security.
•
Password: Create a password for unlocking
the screen. This option provides high security.
•
None: Never use a Lock screen.
Screen Lock Options
Swipe Only
•
Phone shortcut: Display a phone shortcut on
your Lock screen.
•
Wake up in lock screen: Unlock the screen
using wake-up command when swipe is
enabled.
•
Help text: Show help information on unlocking
the screen on the Lock screen.

Signature Only
•
Make signature visible: Display the signature
as your write it.
•
Accuracy level: Set the accuracy level
required of your signature: High, Medium, or
Low.
Swipe and Pattern Only
•
Unlock effect: Set the visual effect used when
unlocking the screen.
Pattern Only
•
Make pattern visible: Display the pattern as
your draw it.
•
Vibration feedback: Vibrate when the unlock
pattern is entered incorrectly.
All Screen Locks
•
Clock widget options: Show the dual clock
on the lock screen, adjust the Clock size, and
show the date.
•
Camera shortcut: Display a camera shortcut
on your Lock screen.
•
Personal message: Enter a customized
personalized message that is displayed on the
lock screen. Tap ON/OFF to turn it on.
•
Owner Information: Show owner information
on the Lock screen.
•
Action memo on lock screen: Enable Action
memos while the screen is locked.
•
Additional information: Display Weather
information or the step count when Pedometer
in S Health is turned on.
•
Secured lock time: Lock the screen instantly
when the Power Key is pressed, or set the
time delay before the screen automatically
turns off. (Not shown on Swipe screen.)
