    1 Einleitung Sie haben sich für den Reha-Autokindersitz LARS entschieden und bekommen hiermit ein hoch- wertiges Produkt aus unserem Haus. Damit Sie recht lange viel Freude mit diesem Produkt haben, und es Ihnen hilft, den Alltag zu erleichtern, überreichen wir Ihnen dieses Handbuch.     Das Produkt erfüllt die Anforderungen der Richtlinie 93/42/EWG für Medizinprodukte. Aufgrund der Klassifizierungskriterien für Medizinprodukte nach Anhang IX der Richtlinie wurde das Produkt in die Klasse I eingestuft. Die Konformitätserklärung wurde deshalb von Otto Bock in alleiniger Verantwortung gemäß Anhang VII der Richtlinie erstellt.

    Die Gurtbänder dürfen nicht verdreht werden. Gefahr! Verletzungsgefahr. Der Lars Reha-Autokindersitz ist für die Nutzung auf der Rückbank und auf dem Bei- fahrersitz nur mit ausgeschaltetem Airbag zugelassen. Wir empfehlen jedoch im Auto die Nutzung auf der Rückbank.

    • Anleitung und benötigtes Werkzeug • Zubehör je nach Bestellung Das komlette Lars Reha-Autokindersitzsystem ist entsprechend der Kundenangabe für die Ver- wendung auf der linken oder rechten Seite des Autos vorbereitet. Diese Einstellung kann vom Fachhändler gemäß der Serviceanleitung umgebaut werden.

    Winkeln enthalten, die je nach Platzbedarf eingesetzt werden. Anschließend wird der Zurrgurt durch beide Gurtösen durchgeführt und auf die Sitzfläche des Autositzes gelegt. Vorsicht! Das Angurten des Unterbaus ist zum Herausdrehen des Lars Autokindersitzes und zur Entlastung des Kindes im Falle eines Unfalles zwingend erforderlich.

    4.2 Aufbau und Einstellen des Untergestells Stecken Sie den Stützrahmen von hinten in die Basis (Abb. 9) und die Fußbankaufnahme von vorne in die Basis (Abb. 10). Bei einer Basis mit Dreh-Schub-Mechanik muss die Entriegelung für den Dreh-Schub (Abb. 9, Pos. A) immer nach vorne zeigen. Bei der Bestellung wurde vom Kunden angegeben in welche Richtung die Dreh-Schub-Mechanik ausfährt.
  • Page 12 Lösen Sie die Stellhebel links und rechts an der Fußbankaufnahme (Abb. 13) und stellen Sie die Fußbankaufnahme auf die Höhe der Sitzfläche des Autositzes ein. Ziehen Sie die Stellhebel nach dem Einstellen wieder fest an. Sollte der Fahrzeugboden im Fußraum links oder rechts unterschiedlich hoch sein, muss dies durch Verstellen der eingeschraubten Tellerfüße ausgeglichen werden.

    4.3 Vorbereiten und Einstellen der Sitzeinheit Montieren Sie die mitgelieferten Gurtführungen (Abb. 17) wie abgebildet jeweils links und rechts an der Innenseite des Sitzgrundrahmens. Richten Sie die eingeklappte Rückenlehne bis auf 90° auf. Drehen Sie den Justierknopf (Abb. 18, Pos. B) so, dass die Zähne in die vorgesehenen Öffnungen im Rückenblech einrasten. Ziehen Sie dann den Stellhebel (Abb.

    Rückenhöhe Nach Lösen der Gewindestifte (Abb. 22, Pos. D) können Sie den Rückeneinschub in die ge- wünschte Höhe verstellen. Ziehen Sie die Gewindestifte nach dem Einstellen wieder fest an. Ab einer Rückenhöhe von ca. 55 cm bei Sitz Gr. 1 und ca. 66 cm bei Sitz Gr. 2 muss der Rü- ckenbügel am Rückenblech von Pos.

Über die Stegschnalle kann die Länge des Schrittgurtes und damit die Höhe, in der der Beckengurt läuft, eingestellt werden (Abb. 25, 26). Nun sollten Sie zunächst die Polsterauflage aufziehen. Um den Beckengurt des Fünfpunktgurtes zu verlegen, fädeln Sie zunächst das Gurtende am Gurtschloss aus. Führen Sie das Gurtende vom Sitz seitlich nach hinten zur ersten Gurtführung, von dort zur zweiten Gurtführung (Abb.

    Polsterauflage Ziehen Sie die Hüftpelottenpolster (Abb. 33) wie abgebildet über die Hüftpelotten und kletten Sie die Polster fest. Die Hüftpelotten haben eine dicke und eine dünne Polsterseite und können von links nach rechts getauscht werden. Ziehen Sie die Seitenpolster (Abb. 34) von oben herab auf die Seitenpelotten auf und schließen Sie die Klettverschlüsse.

    Drücken Sie das Rückenpolster (Abb. 37) von oben herab auf die entsprechenden Klettver- schlüsse. Führen Sie das überschüssige Rückenpolster zwischen Rückenplatte und Sitzfläche nach hinten durch und befestigen Sie das Polster an der Außenseite der Rückenlehne (Abb. 38) mit den Druckverschlüssen.

    5 Bedienung In diesem Kapitel lesen Sie, wie Sie die im täglichen Gebrauch anfallenden Einstellungen und Bedienungen am Autokindersitz, dem Unterbau und am Zubehör vornehmen sollten. 5.1 Verstellmöglichkeiten Sitzkippung Nach Lösen des Stellhebels (Abb. 41, Pos. A) kann der Sitzwinkel von 0° bis 25° verstellt wer- den.

    Rückenneigung Solange der Lars Autokindersitz im fahrenden Auto eingesetzt wird, muss die Rückenneigung, d.h. der Winkel zwischen Sitz und Rücken des Lars auf 90° fixiert sein (Abb. 45). Beachten Sie dazu die Anweisungen unter 4.3. Außerhalb dieser Situation kann die Verriegelung geöffnet und die Winkelverstellung der Rücken- lehne genutzt werden (Abb.

    5.3 Ein- und Ausbau des Autokindersitz Abnehmen und Aufsetzen der Sitzeinheit Stellen Sie vor dem Abnehmen der Sitzeinheit die Sitzkippung an der Kippkonsole auf 0°. Ziehen Sie dann die Halteklaue (Abb. 54) unter dem Sitz auf. Kippen Sie den Sitz nach hinten (Abb.

    5.4 Zubehör Hinweis! Alle Zubehörteile sind durch Fachpersonal zu installieren, sofern sie nicht schon vom Hersteller installiert wurden. Dennoch wurden zum besseren Verständnis einige Mon- tagehinweise für Fachpersonal hier aufgeführt. Gurte an Zubehörteilen sind meist großzügig bemessen, um allen Möglichkeiten gerecht zu werden. Überschüssige Gur- tenden können abgeschnitten und mit einer Flamme (Feuer-zeug) durch Verschmelzen der Schnittkante gegen Ausfransen gesichert werden.

    Zusätzlich kann das Armablagenpolster noch mit einem Gurt, der um die Rückenlehne herum- geführt wird, vor dem Verrutschen und ungewolltem Entfernen gesichert werden. Zum Abnehmen der Armablagenhalter drücken Sie die Stativfedern (Abb. 61) ein und ziehen Sie den Halter nach oben aus der Zubehöraufnahme heraus. Vorsicht!   • Page 25: Brust-Schulterpelotte

    Brust-Schulterpelotte Die Begurtung der Brust-Schulterpelotte (Abb. 65) wird an der Rückenplatte mittels Klappschnallen arretiert. Hierzu vor Beziehen der Rückenplatte mit dem Rückenpolster die Klappschnallenpaare mit den Rändelmuttern so an der Außenseite der Rückenplatte direkt unter den Schultergurtöff- nungen anschrauben, dass die Rändelmuttern auch auf der Außenseite der Rückenplatte sind. Die Schultergurte der Brust-Schulterpelotte (Abb.

    Vorsicht! Weitere Fixiersysteme aus unserem Zubehörprogrammen dienen lediglich zur korrekten Positionierung oder Stützung des Kindes und dürfen in keinem Fall zur Rückhaltesiche- rung eingesetzt werden. Wann immer Sie ein derartiges System im Autokindersitz für Ihr Kind verwenden, muss abschließend immer der am Sitz befindliche Fünf-Punkt-Gurt und der in Ihrem Auto installierte Drei-Punkt-Sicherheitsgurt angelegt werden.

    Alle Gurte in die geöffneten Klappschnallen (Abb. 71) einführen, durchziehen und durch Andrü- cken des Klappschnallendeckels festklemmen. Öffnen der Fixationsweste: Klettsicherungslasche (Abb. 72) über dem Reißverschluss aufziehen. Reißverschluss herunterzie- hen und je nach Wunsch einen oder mehrere Steckverschlüsse durch Druck auf die Endlasche öffnen.

    Kopfstützpelotten Die Kopfstützpelotten (Abb. 75) werden mittels Schlossschrauben und Rändelmuttern an der Rückenplatte befestigt. Zur einfachen Montage und bei Einstellarbeiten öffnen Sie den Reißver- schluss an der Polsterkappe. Nach Lösen der Rändelmuttern lassen sich die Pelotten in den Langlöchern (Abb. 75) hin- und herschieben, um den Freiraum für den Kopfbereich zu reduzieren bzw.

    Sitzhose Zur Erstinstallation ist es ratsam, die Sitzeinheit vom Untergestell zu nehmen. Sitzhose mit den Steckschlössern an den Schenkelriemen nach unten auf die Sitzfläche legen. Die Befestigungslaschen der Sitzhose zwischen Sitz- und Rückenpolster durchstecken, um die hintere Sitzkante (Abb. 79) schlagen und wie abgebildet mit den Schrauben der Hüftpelotten fixieren.

    Thoraxpelotten Montieren Sie die Thoraxpelotten in der gewünschten Position von innen an die Rückenlehne. Durch die Langlöcher in den Thoraxpelottenhaltern (Abb. 83) können die Thoraxpelotten in der Weite verstellt werden. Über die Langlöcher in der Rückenplatte (Abb. 84) können die Thorax- pelotten in der Höhe verstellt werden.

    DANGER! Risk of injury The Lars pediatric rehab car seat has been approved for use on the back seat and on the front passenger's seat, but only with the airbag turned off. However, we recommend using it on the back seat.

This setting can be changed by the specialist dealer following the Service Manual instructions.

    Next, thread the tie-down strap through the two eyelet elements and place it on the seat sur- face. CAUTION! For turning out the Lars pediatric car seat and to relieve the child in case of an ac- cident, the subframe must be fixed using the belt.

    4.2 Mounting and Setting the Subframe Put the supporting frame from behind (Fig. 9) and the footrest receiver from the front into the base (Fig. 10). When using a turn-and-push subframe, the turn-and-push function release (Fig. 9, item A) must always point forward. The customer had indicated on the order form in which direction the seat shall turn.
  • Page 42 Loosen the setting levers on the left and right of the footrest receiver (Fig. 13) and adjust the footrest receiver to the height of the car’s seat. After adjustment, snugly retighten the setting levers. If the vehicle floor has a difference in height on the left and right in the foot room, the plate feet, which are screwed in, must be adjusted to compensate for the difference.

    4.3 Preparing and Setting the Seating Unit Mount the strap guide loops (Fig. 17) as shown to the inside of the seat base frame on the left and right side. Unfold the backrest up to 90°. Turn the locking disk (Fig. 18, item B) until the teeth lock in the holes provided in the back plate.

    Back Height After loosening the set screws (Fig. 22, item D) you can move the back insert to the desired height. After adjustment, snugly retighten the set screws. From a back height of approx. 55 cm with seat size 1 and of approx. 66 cm with seat size 2, the backrest tube must be shifted on the back plate from pos.

    Padding Pull the hip support pads (Fig. 33) over the hip supports as shown in the photo and fasten the hook and loop closures. The hip support pads feature a thicker and a thinner side and can be exchanged from the left to the right side and vice versa. Pull the lateral pads (Fig.

    Press the back pad (Fig. 37) downwards on the corresponding hook and loop closures. Lead the excessive length of the back pad rearwards through between the back plate and seat surface and attach the pad to the outside of the backrest (Fig. 38) with the snap fasteners. Tilting Bracket The tilting bracket and thus the seat can be adjusted in depth by means of the rows of holes in the base and guiding slots (Fig.

    5 Handling This section explains the adjustments and handling of the pediatric car seat, the subframe and the accessories needed for daily use. 5.1 Adjustment Possibilities Seat Tilt After loosening the setting lever (Fig. 41, item A) the seat angle can be adjusted from 0° to 25°. The maximal adjustment range, however, is dependent on the distance to the backrest of the vehicle’s seat (Fig.

    Back Inclination Whenever the car in which the Lars pediatric car seat is used is in motion, the back inclination, i.e. the angle between the seat surface and the backrest of the Lars seat, must be fixed at 90° (Fig. 45).

    The only difference is, that the child must be lifted over the side part of the Lars seating unit, unless there is sufficient space to place the child into the seat from the front.

    5.3 Installing and Removing the Pediatric Car Seat Removing and Mounting the Seating Unit Before removing the seating unit, adjust the seat tilt of the tilting bracket to 0°. Then pull the retain- ing claw (Fig. 54) under the seat. Tilt the seat back (Fig. 53) and lift it off the tilting bracket. To mount the seating unit, please proceed in reverse order.

    5.4 Accessories INFORMATION! Any accessory not installed by the manufacturer must be installed by a qualified technician. The following notes on installation are listed here for technician use. Straps on accessories are usually extra long to accommodate most positions. Excess strap ends can be cut off.

    The armrest pad can additionally be secured with a strap led around the backrest to prevent the pad from slipping or unwanted removal. To remove the armrest holders press the spring button of the tripod spring (Fig. 61) und pull the holder up out of the receiver tube.

    (Fig. 67), pull out the straps, and position them on the sides of the seat. Place the child in the Lars seat and pull the chest and shoulder pad over the child’s head onto his or her chest.

    Thread all straps through the open cam-lock buckles (Fig. 71) and clamp in position by closing the hinged cam. Opening the fixation vest: Open the hook and loop strap (Fig. 72) above the zipper. Pull the zipper down and, as needed, open one or more quick-release buckles by pressing on their end tabs.

    Headrest Supports Attach the head supports (Fig. 75) to the back plate with carriage bolts and knurled nuts. To make installation and adjustments easier, first open the zipper at the top of the back padding. Once the knurled nuts have been loosened, the supports can be moved in their slotted holes (Fig.

    Groin Strap When fitting the groin strap for the first time, it is best to remove the seating unit from the sub- frame. Position the groin strap with the quick-release buckles on the thigh belts pointing downwards on the seat surface. Thread the attachment straps of the groin strap between seat and back padding, wrap them around the back of the seat edge (Fig.

    Thoracic Supports Mount the thoracic supports from the inside to the backrest in the desired position. The slotted holes in the thoracic support holders (Fig. 83) allow the width of the thoracic sup- ports to be adjusted. Slotted holes in the back plate (Fig. 84) allow the height of the thoracic supports to be adjusted.

    Stop using the pediatric car seat as soon as you detect any defects. Contact your authorized dealer to eliminate them. Your LARS pediatric rehab car seat has been provided with the CE-marking. The manufacturer herewith guarantees that this medical product as a whole conforms to the requirements of the European Directive for Medical Products 93/42/EEC.
