Questions and answers
Can you provide details about the active head restraint system?
The active head restraint system in the 2008 Subaru Outback is designed to enhance safety in rear-end collisions. The front seats are equipped with active head restraints that automatically tilt forward slightly in the event of a rear impact. If the vehicle experiences only a slight impact, the active head restraints may not operate. They can also be damaged if pushed hard from behind or subjected to shock, potentially affecting their functionality in a rear impact. If the vehicle is involved in a rear-end collision, an authorized Subaru dealer should inspect the active head restraints.
