Vehicles equipped with active Bi-Xenon headlamps: The active Bi-Xenon headlamps increase usable illumination over conventional headlamps because they follow the curvature of the road ahead.
Lighting When the parking lamps or the rear fog lamp are switched on and you remove the SmartKey from the starter switch and open the driver’s door, an acoustic signal sounds. In addition the message Switch Off Lights appears in the multifunction display.
In the USA, the daytime running lamp mode is deactivated by default. Activate the daytime running lamp mode using the control system, see “Switching daytime running lamp mode on or off (USA only)” ( page 122). Turn the exterior lamp switch to position $ or c.

Wipers ! Vehicles with rain sensor: If you have set intermittent wiping, dirt on the surface of the rain sensor or optical effects may cause the windshield wipers to wipe in an undesired fashion. This could then damage the windshield wiper blades or scratch the windshield.

Driving and parking Vehicle movement can cause serious personal injury or damage to the vehicle or the vehicle drivetrain. Therefore, always do the following before turning off the engine and leaving the vehicle: Keep right foot on the brake pedal. Engage the parking brake.
This may cause serious damage to the engine and the drivetrain which is not covered by the Mercedes-Benz Limited page 267). Warranty. During the brief warm-up, transmission upshifting is delayed. This allows the catalytic converter to heat up more quickly to operating temperature.
Automatic transmission Neutral position Drive position Warning! It is dangerous to shift the automatic transmission out of park position P or neutral position N if the engine speed is higher than idle speed. If your foot is not firmly on the brake pedal, the vehicle could accelerate quickly forward or in reverse.
! Coasting the vehicle, or driving for any other reason with the automatic transmission in neutral position N can result in transmission damage that is not covered by the Mercedes-Benz Limited Warranty. 7 Drive position The automatic transmission shifts automatically. All forward gears are available.
