The part that regulates the flow of coffee fell off. I have the part but can't figure out how to reattach it, if that is even possible. The model is the Aromaster Type 4085 KF -400

I have 2 of the K400. I do not think they have had excessive use. Does water touch metal in heating. Can corrosion occur? Water comes very pure when I do the vinegar & water clean. But since these makers are old, I want to check.
