I bought 2 SPC 500 clocks. Can 't make either one work. Batteries are in (new), I set the time, looks OK, then I set the alarm for AM time, but it never goes off. What are the 3 little dots that keep flashing between the hour and the minutes on the screen??? No image. It is as per your illustration.

On the Sharp SPC500 clock, the three flashing dots between the hour and minutes indicate that the alarm is set and currently activated.
If you are experiencing an alarm issue, such as the alarm not sounding:
1. Check Alarm Set Time: Ensure the alarm time is correctly set. 2. Verify Alarm Activation: Make sure the alarm is turned on. The flashing dots should be visible. 3. Check Volume: Ensure the alarm volume is not set too low or muted. 4. Power Source: Confirm the clock has stable power (batteries or adapter). 5. Reset Clock: Try resetting the clock by removing the batteries or unplugging it for a few minutes, then setting it again.
If the issue continues after these steps, the unit may be faulty.
