ASSEMBLING THE CARBURETOR

Before assembling the carburetor, wash all
of the parts in a petroleum-based solvent.

Always use a new gasket and new O-rings.
1. Measure:
9 float height a
Out of specification → Adjust.
Float height
a
a. Hold the carburetor upside down.
b. Measure the distance from the mating sur-
face of the float chamber (with the gasket
removed) to the top of the float.
NOTE:
The float arm should rest on the needle valve
without depressing it.
c. If the float height is not within specification,
check the needle valve seat and needle
valve.
d. If either the needle valve seat or needle
valve is worn, replace them both.
e. If both the needle valve seat and needle
valve are fine, adjust the float height by
bending the float tang 1 .
f. Check the float height again.

9 coasting enricher assembly
9 o-ring
