Internal Calls

Calling an Extension in Your Telephone
System
Every phone in your company's telephone system has an extension.
To call another
extension
If you are a member of a community (com) group, you can dial a short
code instead of an extension to call another member in your group.
(See "Community (Com) Group Call" on page 3–18.)

Features Used with Internal Calls

The following features can be used with internal calls:
Bridged Call - lets you join an existing phone call on a busy
multiple line appearance. (See "Bridged Call" on page 3–1.)
Busy Override - lets you enter a conversation on a busy extension.
(See "Busy Override" on page 3–3.)
Busy Standby Queuing - lets you stay on the line until the busy
extension you have dialed becomes free. The communications
server then dials the extension. (See "Busy Standby Queuing" on
page 3–4.)
Buzz - lets you signal the phone of another person, such as a
secretary, with a special tone. (See "Buzz" on page 3–17.)
Callback Request - directs the communications server to
complete calls to busy extensions while you wait. It lets you hang
up and have the communications server call you back when the
extension becomes free. After you answer, the communications
server dials the number for you. (See "Callback Request" on page
3–5.)
Get a dial tone.
Dial the extension.
