Data storage
One SD card is supplied with the Parameter writer. Standard SD card and SDHC card are compatible with the
Parameter writer (The word "SD card" is used in this instruction manual for
SD card before storing the data.
About Format
• Format the SD card under the condition that SD card is inserted to the Parameter writer connected to the PC
with USB cable. (See the way of connecting SD card and PC section 4.1)
• It is recommended to use the "SD Memory Card Formatter" to format SD card.
("SD Memory Card Formatter" have to be used when you use Windows 10 PC)
"SD Memory Card Formatter" can be downloaded from SD Association's web site (https://www.sdcard.org/
index.html).
• Select FAT32 or FAT16 as file system. (It is automatically selected when you use "SD Memory Card Formatter".)
• The capacity of SD card will be reduced to about half after formatting, but it does not affect for operation.
Language
The menus are in English, Japanese, Spanish, German, Italian and French. (Default language is set to English)
*Language may be added. Please find the version in order to confirm the additional language. (See section 7)
Power supplies
Two kinds of batteries are available for powering the Parameter writer:
• 4 x LR6 (AA) alkaline batteries (batteries not attached)
• NiMH rechargeable batteries (batteries and charger not attached)
Battery life
Depending on the type of batteries used, the Parameter writer can transfer up to 300 configuration files.
Power save feature
To prolong battery life, a sleep mode is activated within a programmable time delay; the Parameter writer is
reactivated by pressing the Power ON/OFF button. (See the display parameters menu on section 6.9.) The function
to conserve battery power works during connection to a powered-up PC or inverter.
