work by unqualified persons could

What to do if ...
... the burner does not ignite when
the cooktop is being used for the
first time or after a long period of not
being used.
There could be an air lock in the gas
pipe. You may need to make several
attempts before the burner ignites
successfully.
... the in-operation and residual heat
indicators are flashing at the same
time.
Both indicators will flash after an
interruption to the power supply.
Turn all the controls clockwise to
position "ß". You can then operate the
appliance as normal.

There is no supply of gas.
Turn all the controls clockwise to
position "ß". You can then operate the
appliance as normal.
If the problem persists, disconnect the
appliance from the electricity supply for
a few seconds.
... the burner does not ignite after

Disconnect the appliance from the
electricity supply for a few seconds. If
the problem persists, check whether
– the burner is correctly assembled.
– the gas supply tap is turned on.
– the burner is dry and clean.
– the flame slits are dry and
unblocked.
... the gas flame goes out after being
lit.
The flames need to touch the ignition
safety device so that it heats up.
If the flames do not touch the ignition
safety device, check that
– the burner components are
assembled correctly.
– there is no soiling on the ignition
safety device. If there is, remove it
carefully (see "Cleaning and care").
