    Connections  Connect the speaker cords to the speakers. Insert the cords into the speaker terminals on the speakers. Pull on the cord lightly afterwards to confirm that the cords are firmly connected. Black Black Note Make sure the metal leads (not the part covered with vinyl insulation) are securely inserted into the speaker terminals.
  • Page 3  Connect the AM loop antenna. Connect the AM loop antenna to the AM antenna terminals on the unit. Pull on the cord lightly afterwards to confirm that the antenna is firmly connected. Notes  Make sure to keep the AM loop antenna away from the unit or other AV equipment as this may produce noise in the radio reception.

    Listening to CDs, Radio Broadcasts, or DAB services Listening to an audio CD Press CD. The disc tray slides out. Place an audio CD into the disc tray. Press CD. The disc tray closes and playback starts. When an audio CD is loaded, the unit automatically starts searching for title information within its database or over the Web (when connected to the Internet).

Press TUNING + or TUNING – on the remote control to tune in a station. Listening to DAB services (UK model only) Press DAB. DAB Auto Scan starts automatically. When scanning is completed, the DAB service that was first received starts.

The unit automatically starts searching for title information within its database or over the Web (when connected to the Internet). Press CD and start playback. Press HDD REC .
  • Page 9 Saving ~ Importing files from a USB storage device ~ Press FUNCTION to display the Function menu. FUNCTION Press  /  /  /  to select [HDD JUKEBOX]. /// Press ENTER. ENTER Connect the USB storage device to the USB connecting jack of the unit. Refer to the operation manual of the USB storage device as well. Press OPTIONS to display the Option menu.

HDD To stop playback  Press Playing audio data by album, artist, genre, etc. In addition to album mode, artist mode and genre mode, the unit has the following listing modes.     Using the Internet Obtaining title information Through an Internet connection, you can obtain title information to albums that were not labeled when you recorded or imported them. Albums saved to the HDD Jukebox can be automatically labeled. For details on obtaining title information to an album:  See page 15...
  • Page 15 Obtaining title information stored in the HDD Jukebox ~ This section explains how title information (album name, artist name, etc.) is obtained for albums in the HDD Jukebox. Select the album whose information you are looking for. Press OPTIONS to display the Option menu. OPTIONS Press // / to select [Obtain title info] – [Album] and press ENTER. The search starts.

    Troubleshooting If a problem occurs while operating the unit, follow the steps described below before consulting the nearest Sony dealer. If an error message appears, it is recommended that you make a note of its contents for reference. Step 1: Check the supplied “Operating Instructions” .
