4.4 Resistance Measurement

Prior to any resistance measurement it has to be ensured that the
resistor to be tested is not live. Failure to comply with this
prescription can lead to dangerous corporal user injuries or cause
instrument damage.
1)
Select measurement range (Ω) via measurement function
selection switch (4).
2)
Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the red test
lead to the "VΩ
3)
Connect test leads to UUT.
4)
The value measured is shown on the digital display.
5)
If the range selected is too small, the figure "1" is displayed
alone on the left side of the display. Change to a higher range.

4.5 Diode Test

Prior to any diode measurement it has to be ensured that the object
to be tested is not live.
1)
Select measurement range (
selection switch (4).
2)
Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the red test
lead to the "VΩ
3)
Connect test leads to UUT.
4)
Read the voltage drop in the forward direction from the digital
display. In the reverese direction, "1" should appear at the left
side of the display.
Remark: The polarity of the test voltage is "+" at the red test lead.

4.6 Battery Test for 9V and 1.5V Batteries

1)
Select measurement range to 1,5V or 9V (depending on
battery) via measurement function selection switch (4).
2)
Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the red test
lead to the "Battery Test/200mA" socket
3)
Connect the red test lead to the plus pole (+) and the black test
lead to the minus pole (-) of battery
4)
The state of charge of the battery will be displayed in volts in
the display.
A good battery should have at least 1.2V or 7.5V respectively.
