3-5 Fibre Channel Storage Unit Setup
— Configuring Logical Drives
You can combine the hard disk drives contained in the
Fibre Channel Storage Unit to construct logical drives
with the capacity and performance required by your
application.

3-5-1 Setup for LSI44929o Mounting

Depending on the configuration, a 2Gb fibre channel
interface board (LSI44929o) may be installed in the
DMW-S05NL-C. Use the Windows Disk Management
Tool to create and delete logical drives.
Note
When creating a logical drive for video, it is necessary
to use the same number of disks connected to each of
the two LSI44929o ports (port 0 and port 1), to form
one logical drive. For example, use eight disks
In the tree on the left of the window, ports ID-5 and
ID-6 correspond to the two LSI44929o ports.
The disk numbers shown in the tree correspond to the
disk numbers shown in the Windows "Disk
Management Tool."
connected to each of port 1 and port 2 (total 16 disks).
To check the disks connected to each port, on the
Windows desktop select Start > Programs > Sony
DMW > ScsiDiskWatcher.
This starts Scsi Disk Watcher, and the following
screen appears.
