Recording Programs
When recording, always make sure VCR is
ON and tuned to channel 3, with a blank
tape inserted.

To record a future program press
highlight the progam and press
Press
to "Set VCR Tuner." Press
to accept reminder. Then program your VCR
manually to record channel 3 at the proper time.
Press
to release the Digital Terminal from
the record mode.
Recording the channel
you're watching
To record now, press the RECORD button on your
VCR to start taping the current channel.
Using Parental Control
TV Navigator provides you with parental control to
allow you to restrict viewing of certain channels,
ratings, and programs during certain time periods.
When you tune to a blocked item when parental
control is activated, a screen appears informing
you that the channel or program is blocked. Only
those household members who know the blocking
PIN can bypass this screen and view blocked
channels or programs.

To set up parental control, you do the following:

Specify which channels, ratings, and times
you want to block.

Activate parental control and enter your block-
ing PIN. If you do not activate parental control,
all channels, ratings and times are available to
all household members.

Setting up parental control

When you set up parental control, you can specify
what channels, ratings, or time periods you want to
block. This section describes how to do this.
Note: Items that are currently blocked show
a locked or unlocked symbol in the General
Settings menu. For descriptions of these
symbols, refer to page 7.
