4. The following screen will appear, indicating that all of the appropriate files
are being copied onto your drive. Click the Cancel button if you need to
stop the installation for any reason.
5. Once Windows has finished copying the necessary files, the following
screen will appear. In order for the drivers to be installed properly, you
must restart your computer. If you choose to do it now, select Yes, I want
to restart my computer now. If you do not want to do it now, choose No,
I will restart my computer later. Once you have made your choice, click
the Finish button to continue.

Configuring the Network PC Card with
the Configuration Utility
After you start up the utility from the Program Folder as specified in the previous
section, you will see the Wireless LAN Configuration Utility screen. This utility
is divided into four parts: Link Info, Configuration, Encryption, and About.
Each part will be explained here. It is recommended that you change all configu-
ration settings for your Network PC Card using this utility and not under the
Network Properties section in your Control Panel.
LINK INFO
The Link Info screen provides information about the current link between the
Network PC Card and the wireless Access Point.
The Current Channel field shows to what channel the Network PC Card is set.
The Current Tx Rate field
shows the transfer rate in
megabits per second.
The Throughput fields show
the rate at which data is trans-
ferred and received in Bytes per
second.
The Link Quality and Signal
Strength indicators show the
strength of the connection in
percentages
After installation, the Wireless
Note:
When in AdHoc
mode, Link Quality and
Signal Strength indicators
will not be available.
Network PC Card Configuration Utility icon will appear on your system tray.
Green signifies a good connection or strong signal. Yellow signifies an acceptable
connection or signal. Red signifies a poor connection or weak signal. Double-click
on the Configuration Utility icon, and the screen above will appear.
