    Chapter 2: Basics Adjusting the Screen If lighting conditions make it difficult to view the information on your HandEra handheld computer, use the Backlight and Contrast control to adjust your screen. Using the Backlight ♦ To turn the Backlight on, press the power button for about two seconds.

    Chapter 3: Cards and Expansion Slots Your HandEra handheld computer features two expansion slots. These slots are located on the top of the unit. ♦ The smaller slot supports Secure Digital (SD) cards. ♦ The larger slot supports CompactFlash (CF) cards.

    Chapter 4: Audio Your HandEra handheld includes enhanced sound capabilities. Audio includes a microphone at the top of the unit for speech-recording. Your handheld also includes a higher-fidelity speaker and drive electronics that allow for improved audio performance. The speaker can play speech quality sound and deliver significant volume for alarms.

    Your handheld has an automatic shutoff feature that turns off the power and Backlight after a period of inactivity. This feature helps conserve battery power in case you forget to turn off your HandEra computer. If you find that your HandEra computer shuts itself off before you finish reviewing the information on the screen, you should increase the time setting of the automatic shutoff feature.
