External Ethernet Unit Option Enclosed in a plastic box, the Ethernet unit provides an RS-232 port for connection of MOSCAD units to LAN. The external Ethernet unit is powered by 12VDC and has indication LED's on its front panel. The external Ethernet unit is used with the MOSCAD-NFM, and with CPU modules of the MOSCAD that are not enhanced with an on-board Ethernet Plug-in option.

Upgrading the Ethernet Unit/Ethernet Plug-in The operating system within the Ethernet unit may be upgraded, when required, by connecting a PC running the ToolBox System Downloader to the Ethernet unit (see figure below). The D-type (female) adapter should be configured as described in the table below. This adapter and cable directly connects to an RS-232 connector on the PC.
