e When replacing the DOLBY NR lC PA3012 in 3-head decks:
1. As a rule, replace ICs with only ICs of the
same rank within each channel (right or left).
2. If an IC of the same rank is not available, the
IC of one rank higher or lower (see table 1
below) can be used instead. However. after re-
placement, the ICs on the recording side and
the playback side must not differ by more than
one rank.
3. The colors in table 1 refer to the color marking
on the top surface of the IC package (see fig.l).

Acceptable replacement:
Rank does not differ within each channel.
Unacceptable replacement:
o In this example, the rank of yellow and violet
are more than one rank.
