  • Page 12: Turning Your Player "On" For The First Time

    Turning your player "On" for the first time Now that you have connected your player to the other devices, you can begin setup. First, we recommend that you turn on your television before turning on your KiSS Player. This way, the video channel you have chosen will appear on your television screen automatically (SCART or HDMI). Turning on your KiSS Player before your television, however, has no negative effect on the use or operation of your player.

    Quick Setup Powering up your player for the first time, you will be presented with the Quick Setup wizard allowing you basic setup of your player with very few button presses and minimal technical knowledge. The Quick Setup is simple and largely self-explanatory. Should you at a later time wish to go through it again or alter some more advanced settings, please consult the “Advanced Setup”...

Selecting the Network Once you have connected an Ethernet cable to your DP-600 or are ready to set your wireless network, select either “Wired Network” (for ethernet cable connection) or “Wireless Network” depending on the type of network connection you wish to set up. - If you have selected “Wired Network”, proceed to item 6a.

    Player Menu This section walks you through each section of the main menu of the player giving you access to all of its primary functions like file browsing, playback of media and online services. To exit or re-enter the menu, simply press the MENU button on your remote control. Disc Playback Play: Play the disc currently inserted in the player.

    Customize "My KML" Page: Entering this menu item allows you to define an IP address pointing to a KML page of your choice. KiSS Networked Entertainment does not maintain or keep track of third party pages. Therefore we do not currently provide a repository of available pages. Instead we recommend doing an Internet search.
  • Page 17 Repeat: This option can be toggled between repeating the whole disc, the current chapter only or none. Change subtitle: Toggle between available subtitles for the video playing. A quicker shortcut to this function is pressing the SUBTITLE button on the remote control. Pressing it additional times will allow you to cycle through available subtitles.

    Accessing your files Once the connection has been validated, start KiSS PC-Link. The program is divided into Video, Audio and Picture files. Load the files to be shared by clicking ADD or SEARCH if you want the software to look for the files itself.
  • Page 20 TV Guide The KiSS TV Guide is an online Electronic Program Guide (EPG) that enables you to browse information on current and upcoming TV programs. To use it to browse program information on your available TV stations, you will need to add some stations first. Adding stations 1.
  • Page 21 What’s on?: Entering “What’s on?” from the “Favorite shows” bar will list instances of all your favorite shows running this week. Entering one of them will give you information on that particular episode, such as date, time of broadcast, duration, episode number and a description if available. Press “When is it on?” for a listing of running times for the show.
  • Page 22 Currencies: This page shows a list of relevant currencies and their conversion rates. Ypu can also manually calculate currency conversion rates using the calculator. Simply press “Calculator” form the bottom of this page to access it. Currency conversion calculator: Having entered the currency conversion calculator you will be presented with a list of currencies.

  • Page 24 Audio Settings Audio mode: Enter this option to select between Stereo and Surround speaker setup of your system. If you select Stereo, Surround media playback will be down mixed to 2 channel Stereo output for TV or Hi-Fi Stereo systems. If you select Surround and connect an A/V-Receiver, the 5.1 digital and analog outputs will be dependent on the media format during playback, and the Audio Encoding selection.

    Miscellaneous Settings Screen saver: Entering this option enables you to set the amount of minutes the player stays idle before the screen saver activates. Front panel brightness: Enter this option to set the brightness of the light in the front panel display. Parental control: This allows you to set the level of mature DVD content watchable on this player by the children of the household.

You can easily verify the firmware version running on your player by pressing "Setup". The number is situated on the top right corner of the screen. If the firmware version from the Internet is newer, you should download it.
