Before requesting service

FUNCTION
The unit is switched on but cannot
be used.
The error code «H
or «F
» appears:
The unit automatically switches to
standby mode.
PICTURE
Television reception worsens when
the unit is connected.
The picture is not set correctly.
The picture flickers.
No on-screen messages.
SOUND
It is not possible to hear the desired
sound type.
The sound cannot be set for stereo or
NICAM broadcasts.
STROM DISPLAY
"0:00" blinks on the unit display.
REMOTE CONTROL
The television cannot be operated.

Distorted sound.
The display lighting
is weak.
No functions.
Check the power supply connection.
There is a malfunction. The numbers following the letter «H» indicate the
condition of the unit.
Switch the unit to standby /I. If the unit does not switch to standby
mode, press and hold /I for approx. 10 seconds or unplug it from the
power supply for approx. one minute and reconnect the cable.
Press /I to switch the unit on.
If the malfunction is not eliminated after this, contact customer service
and provide the code that is displayed.
One of the unit's security devices may have been activated.
Press /I to switch the unit on.
Check the connection to the television set, e.g. AV1.
When Encrypted is shown, you cannot view because the unit is
for viewing and recording free to view channels only.
Check the aerial connection. You may need to use a signal amplifier.
Check the [TV Aspect] setting in the Connection SETUP menu.
Adjust the picture. Read the operating instructions for the television.
Change the [On-Screen Messages] setting in the Display SETUP menu.
Check the connections.
If you have connected an amplifier, check its input mode.
Switch off the V.S.S. function if it causes problems.
Press DISPLAY and select [audio channel], to change to the desired
sound type.
Change the appropriate setting in the Sound SETUP menu.
Connect external devices with audio cables even if you use a digital
connection.
You cannot change the sound type when using DVD-R/-RW(V)/+R.
Change the [FL Display] in the Display SETUP menu.
No time. Set the time in the Others, [Clock] SETUP menu.
If the unit is in TIMER standby mode ( on the unit) end this with TIMER.
A wrong remote control code was selected.
Check the batteries.
Point the remote control at sensor on the unit.
The child lock feature has been activated.
If the unit is in External Link Standby Mode (External Link is displayed on
the unit) end this by pressing EXT LINK on the remote control.
