Troubleshooting
Problem
Burner(s)will not light
usingignitor.
Burner(s)will not
matchlight.
PossibleCause
Prevention/Solution
• Wire andlorelectrodecoveredwith
cookingresidue.
• Electrode and burnerarewet.
• Electrode crackedor broken"sparksat
crack"
• Wire is looseor disconnected.
• Wire is shorting(sparking) between
ignitor a nd electrode.
• Bad ignitor.
• Nogas flow.
• Couplingnutand regulatornotfully
connected.
• Obstruction of gas flow.
• Disengagement of burnerto valve.
• Is grill assembled correctly?
• Cleanwire and/orelectrodewith rubbingalcoholand cleanswab.
• Wipedry with cloth.
• Replaceelectrode.
• Reconnect w iresor replaceelectrode/wire assembly.
• Replaceignitor w ire/electrode assembly.
• Replaceignitor.
• Checkto see if LP tank isempty.If LP tank isnotempty,referto
"Sudden drop in gas flow"below.
• Turn thecouplingnut aboutone-halfto threequartersadditional
turn untilsolid stop.Tightenby handonly-donot usetools.
• Clearburnertube(s).
• Reengageburnerand valve.Reattachspringclips.
• Checkstepsin assemblyinstructions.
Suddendrop ingas
• Outof gas.
• Checkfor gas inLP tank.
flow or low flame.
• Excessflow valvetripped.
• Turn off knobs,wait 30 secondsand lightgrill. If flamesare still low,
turn off knobsand LPtank valve. Disconnect r egulator.Reconnect
regulatorand leaktest.Turnon LP tankvalve,wait 30 secondsand
then lightgrill.
Flamesblowout.
• Highor gustingwinds.
• Turn frontof grill to face windor increase flame height.
• Lowon LPgas.
• RefillLPtank.
• Excessflow valvetripped.
• Referto "Suddendropin gas flow"above.
Flare-up.
• Greasebuildup.
• Cleangrill.
• Excessivefat in meat.
• Trim fat from meat beforegrilling.
• Excessivecookingtemperature.
• Adjust (lower)temperature accordingly.

• Greasetrappedby foodbuilduparound
• Turn knobsto OFRTurn gasoff at LPtank. Leavelid in positionand
