This manual provides an overview of the UNIVERGE ® 2000 IPS (Internet Protocol Server)

The UNIVERGE ® 2000 IPS (Internet Protocol Server) is a full-featured IP based

communications system providing a rich feature set with pure Voice over IP (VoIP)
communications (peer to peer connections), across corporate Local and Wide Area Networks
(LAN and WAN). The UNIVERGE 2000 IPS DtermIP telephones are designed to

provide a converged infrastructure at the desktop, with a 100 Base T Ethernet connection to the
LAN and built-in hub for a PC connection to the telephone itself. The system can provide peer-
to-peer connections between DtermIP telephones with voice compression, offering existing
Dterm Series i telephone features. On the WAN side, the system can provide peer-to-peer
connections over IP networks with the voice compression, on a CCIS basis (CCIS over IP) or
Remote PIM (Remote PIM over IP).
