DVP
This failure relates only to
DES
secure equipped radios and
DES-XL
indicates a failure to load key
DVI-XL
with the KVL indicated by the
DVP-XL
message "x FAIL" and key fail
DVI-XL & DVP
tone. Typical failure modes
DES-XL & DVP
would be:
DES-XL & DVP-XL
1) Open between Pin 10 of the
DVP-XL & DVP
universal connector C which
DVP-XL & DVI-XL
places radio in Keyload mode.
DES-OFB
2) Use of wrong KVL or KVL
DES-OFB & DES
cable for ASTRO Digital Spectra
DES-OFB & DES-XL
radio.
DES-OFB & DVP-XL
3) Failure of secure module.
DES-OFB & DVI-XL
With KVL attached to
radio and radio on,
inititate a keyload by
pressing P-T-T on the
keyloader and look for
activity on J801-15.
Replace
secure module.
