If a PC card doesn't work properly in a card slot
Try removing and reinserting the card.
Try inserting the card in the other card slot to check the connector.
Try removing a PC card from the other card slot, if another card is present.
For a data storage card, check that you're using the correct drive letter.
If a data storage card doesn't work properly, check if it has a write-protect switch
and that it is set properly.
If a modem card doesn't work properly, in Windows Help use the modem
troubleshooter.
If a floppy drive doesn't work
Check to see that the floppy disk drive configuration is correct. Note that the
floppy drive will not work on the dock parallel port—only on the OmniBook
parallel port.
1. Press FN+F2 to start the Software Configuration utility.
2. From the Disks menu, click Floppy Disk Drive.
3. Select 1.44 Mb and click OK.
4. From the Exit menu, click Save and Exit.
5. Click OK.

For serial and infrared problems
If a modem doesn't work properly, in Windows Help use the modem
troubleshooter.
If an application can't access a serial port
Check that the COM name you're using is actually assigned to the port you're
using—in OmniBook Tools click Connections and COM Ports.
If an application doesn't support the COM port number you're using, change the
port names—in OmniBook Tools click Connections and COM Ports.
Check whether another application is preventing access to the port—even if it's
not actively using it.
Check in the communications application that you haven't changed the address
and interrupt for the OmniBook port—for settings, see
settings."
If the OmniBook stops responding after accessing a serial port
