The FDA publication includes the following information: Do cell phones pose a health hazard? Many people are concerned that cell phone radiation will cause cancer or other serious health hazards.

Very high levels of electromagnetic energy, such as is found in X-rays and gamma rays, can ionize biological tissues. Ionization is a process where electrons are stripped away from their normal locations in atoms and molecules.

But, if you are concerned about avoiding even potential risks, you can take a few simple steps to minimize your RF exposure.

Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Certification Information Your wireless mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed and manufactured not to exceed the exposure limits for Radio Frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the U.S. Government. These FCC RF exposure limits are derived from the recommendations of two expert organizations: the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurement (NCRP) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). - Page 20 SAR tests are conducted using standard operating positions accepted by the FCC with the mobile device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands.
