OPERATION

STARTING THE ENGINES

WARNING

THE FOLLOWING:
l Before
operating
become familiar with all controls.
Consult your Yamaha dealer
about any control or function you
do not fully understand.
l Attach the engine shut-off switch
cord to your personal flotation
device before operating. Failure
to attach cord could result in
a runaway boat if operator is
ejected.
l Check throttle, shift, and steering
for proper operation before start-
ing the engine.
l Shift into Neutral before starting
engines.
l Never start the engine or let it run
any length of time in an enclosed
area. Exhaust fumes contain car-
bon monoxide, a colorless, odor-
less gas that may cause loss of
consciousness and death within
a short time. Always operate the
boat in an open area.
