TD CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT

If the machine detects an insufficient amount of toner available, it will stop
copying but will continue to run while feeding toner. During this time the TD
cartridge replacement required (
(
) indicator will go out. When sufficient toner has been added, the
blinking indicator will go out and the START key indicator will light up
indicating that copying can be resumed. However, if toner addition continued
for a maximum of two minutes, the TD cartridge replacement required
indicator will light up steadily in addition to the START key (
lighting. This indicates that the toner supply is low and that a new TD
cartridge will be needed soon. If copying is continued in this state, the copies
will gradually become lighter until the copier stops and the TD cartridge
replacement required (
) indicator begins to blink, indicating that the
cartridge must be replaced before copying can be resumed. Replace the TD
cartridge by following the procedure below.

Open the bypass tray. Lift slightly on the side cover
and slide the cover out until it stops.
Push gently on both sides of the front cover to open the

cover.

Lift the TD cartridge lock release lever and pull the
cartridge out until the green strap handle can be grasped
by the right hand. Lift the cartridge by the handle while
supporting it with the left hand at the green label position
to remove it.
For disposal of the old TD cartridge, contact your dealer.

Remove the new TD cartridge from the bag. Hold the
cartridge on both sides and shake it horizontally four or
five times.
For best copying results, be sure to use only
SHARP products.
