    Safety The safety aspects of our refrigerators/freezers comply with accepted technical standards and the German Appliance Safety Law. Neverthe- less, we consider it our obligation to make you aware of the following safety information: Intended use • The refrigerator is intended for use in the home. It is suitable for the cooling, freezing and storing of frozen food, as well as for making ice.

    Defrosting Refrigerator Frost is automatically eliminated from the evaporator of the refrigera- tor compartment every time the motor compressor stops, during nor- mal use. The defrost water drains out through a trough into a special container at the back of the appliance, over the motor compressor, where it evaporates.

    Switching off the appliance If the appliance is not going to be used for an extended period: Remove all deep-frozen packages as well as ice trays. Switch off the appliance by turning the temperature regulator to posi- tion "0". Remove the mains plug or switch off or turn out the circuit breaker or fuse.
