Safety instructions

The EWA 174. appliance has a power rating
of 3000 Watt. It may only be connected to
a mains socket protected with a 16 A fuse.
It is possible, particularly when several
appliances are operated simultaneously on
the same circuit, that the corresponding
fuse may trip. The safety features of AEG
electrical appliances comply with accepted
technical standards and the German
Appliance Safety Law. Nevertheless, as a
manufacturer we consider it our obligation
to make you aware of the following safety
information. The safety standards of AEG
electric appliances are in keeping with the
recognised rules of technology and the law
governing
the
safety
of
appliances.
Nevertheless as a manufacturer we are
committed to familiarise you with the fol-
lowing safety instructions:
General safety
• The appliance may only be connected to
a power supply with the same voltage as
that specified on the type plate (9)!
• Never use the flex to pull the plug out of
the socket but pull the actual plug.
• If the mains cord of this appliance is
damaged, it has to be replaced by the
manufacturer or its customer service or
a trained electrician to avoid risks.
• Never use the kettle if it has been drop-
ped or has evidently been damaged.
• Repairs to the kettle may only be carried
out by qualified personnel. As a result of
incorrect repairs considerable dangers
may result. Please contact the AEG
customer service department or an
authorised dealer in the event of repairs
being necessary.
• Always pull out the plug,
– before cleaning and attending to the
kettle,
– and after each time it is used.
