Introduction

Auto Speed Negotiation

The A6795A adapter is capable of transferring data at 1 Gb or 2 Gb per second. The adapter will

automatically negotiate to find the highest speed that is common to the port and to the infrastructure

connecting the port.

To display the link speed along with other existing adapter information, use the command:

: tdutil <adapter hardware path>

The current link speed is displayed as part of the output. Once the adapter is operating at a certain speed, it

will not attempt to negotiate again unless a link fails, or it detects a chip reset.
